What does everybody here think about the constitutional status of Wales in the event of the UK breaking up.
If the UK broke up, should Wales be fully integrated into England, should they have devolution within England, a federation with England or full independence from England or another solution?
The only way I would accept being joined to Wales is if the Welsh agreed to become part of England and accept full integration into England so that Wales did not exist anymore.
Otherwise I want the Welsh to be fully independent.
I never want to see another situation where England has to subsidise a devolved adminstration! Plus I don't see why my English citizenship should be denied in favour of 'British' simply because 3 million celts don't feel comfortable being called English.
Perhaps people should also note that when England went into Union with Scotland, Wales was part of the Kingdom of England. I don't think Wales became legally different from England again until 1955.
I should also add that I believe this issue should be voted for by the Welsh people themselves but only having a choice between independence and becoming fully part of England.
What does everybody else think about the status of Wales?

Cap'n Beaky on the bridge again.
I would have no objection to tearing up the Act of Union. If England wants to go it's own way, then who are the Welsh or Scottish to stop them doing so. Both countries may well be better off without England sucking the lifeblood out of them.
I object when my tax - and the Corporation Tax paid by my company - is wasted by a bunch of amateur politicians in London.
But without Welsh or Scottish brains to run England it will have to rely on more Johnny Foreigners; the English haven't got the ability to run a country or even a p*ss up in a pub.
Then there's language. In Wales we have two. In England pick up a council leaflet and there's 40 languages. So let England go its own way before Urdu and Hindi become official languages of Wales as well.
Better off without it, I say.

Captain Beaky back on the bridge.
Has anyone ever met an intelligent Ingerlishman?
I told my daughter: bring one of them home and I'll disown you and disinherit you. Don't care if you marry someone from darkest Africa or a Romanian gypsy - but not an Ingerlishman. How would he be able to support you on government benefits and handouts? Apart from that they aren't even civilised.

Well that has to be your own opinion, dear boy.
