A WELSHPOOL man who fraudulently claimed nearly £20,000 in benefits has escaped with a community order. Gwyn Brian Roberts, 48, of Oldford Rise, Welshpool, pleaded guilty to four charges of benefit fraud. Roberts had taken up a position as a delivery driver at Graham’s Fabrics in Welshpool from July 30, 2007, Roberts had also been carrying out lifting tasks as well as driving for the company.
Roberts left the job after being made aware that inquiries were being carried out into his employment status.
Roberts was given a 12-month community order with a requirement to complete 150 hours of community service. He was also given a curfew for six weeks from 7pm to 7am on Fridays and Saturdays. He was also ordered to pay costs of £100.
A blatent fraud of which he relived the taxpayers of over £20K and all he gets is a 150 hours community service which he will probably not do and a £100 costs. What a farce Not a bad rate of pay £20K for a 150 hours

Typical of the Welsh! Useless scroungers - all of them!
You wouldn't get a true born Englishman doing that!! Sooner we take them over and wipe em out, the better for evrybody!
