The Coalition government have concluded that it is not appropriate for Westminster to continue funding S4C. They are now considering alternative options. All included substantially reducing S4C's current costs as they have concluded that there is no viable altenative funding model at the current costs.
a)Options being considered are a Welsh TV licence Fee
b)Making it a subscription services with some free to air PSB output
c)Closing it
d)Merging it with the BBC
Favoured option at present is to move it to a subscription basis with about 10 hours a week of PSB free to air output.
