The disaster that the Edinborogh tram scheme has turned into goes on the costs have exscalated from £330M to over £1B and the line will now only be just over half the legth of the original plan
In a further blow today the Scottish assembly are withdrawing £70M of the funding. This represents the funding for the section of line now being curtailed.
Edinborough Council will now have to decide as to whether they can afford to borrow another £70M.
There are addituioal problems though as with the line now cut back to Haymarket and not going into the city centre the losses the line is expected to make each year will double.
