THE stars of YouTube hit Newport (State of Mind) are set to perform at the opening of the city’s iconic Transporter Bridge on Friday.
Alex Warren, 24, and Terema Wainwright, 25, who play Jay Z and Alicia Keys in a spoof version of the number one hit New York Empire State of Mind, will recreate the internet sensation live at the bridge which features in the song's lyrics.
The team behind the popular video, which has now been viewed more than 1,381,000 times on YouTube since last Monday, will meet Newport mayor Cllr Bill Langsford, who will officially open the landmark structure on the Pill side at 10.30am.
